Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
